An award for the best music startup at Web Summit 2019
It is undeniable: startups are changing the present and the future of music, bringing innovation and ideas that simplify the lives of artists, producers, singers, and musicians. The innovative companies that think of artists are more and more numerous. Some examples? Just think of the Apps automatically tune instruments by placing the tuner on the key. Additionally, today, there are platforms to manage radio flow, checking in real-time if something in the promotion and visibility of a song is not working, as well as websites that lead to track who is playing live a song.
For this reason, Web Summit has decided to dedicate a specific award to the startups that offer solutions to the music industry. Web Summit is the largest tech conference in the world, according to Forbes magazine. It takes place in Lisbon, Portugal.
The award is titled Music Innovation Prize 2019, and the winner startups received the prize at the Music Notes stage, where we followed the event as Media/Press. On this occasion, five new music startups (PEEX, Vochlea, Show4Me, 0W1 Audio and Sound Particles) presented their company in front of influential investors and famous artists. The winner has been announced in the afternoon section: Vochlea of George Write, who won a show stand at Collision 2020, Web Summit sister’s conference in Toronto Canada.
The 5 Finalist Startups at Music Innovation Prize 2019
Among the finalists in this space dedicated to the musical startup award, we find Patrick Vosgimorukian CEO of PEEX, an innovative technology company that aims to digitally improve the live audio experience through PEEX, a wearable device. Elton John launched this device during his farewell tour of the scenes (Farewell Yellow Brick Road) started in September 2018.
Together with the CEO of PEEX, we find George Wright, CEO of Vochlea (startup winner) and Karén Chiftalaryan, CEO of Show4Me.
George Wright is an engineer, musician, consumer tech geek, designer, and entrepreneur from Leeds, United Kingdom. Vochlea is an AI audio startup with software capable of transforming the voice into Midi. The founder of Vochlea also collaborates with the Royal Academy of Engineering. Karén Chiftalaryan has an MA in international finance and investment. In 2003 she began his investment banking career, while in 2013, he founded the Show4me Music Interaction Network platform, an all-in-one music ecosystem that helps monetize the music product through interaction with fans and membership programs.
With them also Phil Briot and Nuno Fonseca. Phil Briot is the co-founder of the Paris-based startup 0W1 audio, the innovative hardware company that created 0W1 D5, the first high fidelity system that aims to offer listeners a goose-skin audio experience! Nuno Fonseca is the founder and CEO of the Portuguese startup Sound Particles. This company has developed software that is used by the most famous Hollywood studios and from some of the major video game companies. The production of Game of Thrones, Aquaman, and Ready Player One, among others, used it.
